Artificial testicles

prostheses

Just in case you need a prosthetic testicle, you can get them from Mentor Corporation in a saline-filled version or Silimed Corporation, for the silicon model. No, I'm afraid no one makes brass ones, but you can get them in different sizes, from the 2x2.3cm children's size, to the 4x5cm ones for adults. (It does rather suck all the humor out of these devices when they come in children's sizes, I'm afraid.)

There is absolutely no market for elective testicular enhancement surgery. Despite being much prettier than the real thing, these have no hormonal function and are inert to tactile sensation.

Why do they have microphones on one side of them? Is it to record the sounds of some of your more tender moments?

Steve -- insert obvious "testes...one, two, three" joke here. ;)

Man, that's a downer. Reminds me of this documentary I saw on transgendered people and hermaphrodites. In one segment, there was this boy who was born with vestigial female organs and a particularly small set of male organs, so the doctors took it upon themselves to make a decision, and sliced his balls off. Yes, without consulting the parents. He's now eight or nine, and still identifies himself as a boy (he has a penis), but he's not going to go through puberty and emerge from the other side "correctly," and of course he'll never be able to have children (unless we manage to perfect and legalize reproductive cloning within his lifetime).

That's an awfully depressing reason to need artificial testicles.

Er...upon further consideration, any reason for needing artificial testicles would probably be pretty depressing.

I love my neuticals. Did you know that Sheryl Crow is a big fan of neuticals? Just ask Lance Armstrong.
