Hey, that's MY schtick!

The Apostropher is showing cuttlefish porn. I thought peddling molluscan sex acts was my job.

Peddling molluscan sex acts is everyone's job.

Looking down sheepishly, shuffling feet

I stole a minor part of your schtick too. I noticed that you'd changed the default "Where are visitors to this page?" linktext of your hitmap icon to "The Pharynguloid Empire." For some reason, putting something different there had never occurred to me, so I filled in my own slogan, even though I'm sure someone else has already thought of that particular reference.

Are you really surprised to see competition springing up? After all, given the astounding profit margins to be had, it would be surprising if there weren't more Internet Cephalopod Porn Sites. Ah, yes -- capitalism on the march! ('Is that a squid in your Invisible Hand, or are you just happy to see me?')

Ezra Klein of Pandagon has a new Blog. He even mentioned PZ Myers, the well known Cephalopod porn Tycoon, so he's obviously off to a good start showing exquisite taste. Ezra is an amazingly talented writer, well worth reading on...

actually, i believe that mollusk sex acts were first the shtick of Monty Python. recall a skit where a travelling educational TV man knocks on the door and tries to educate a couple about mollusks but keeps having to get to the racy bits to keep them interested.
