New York is a busy place...

I'm neglecting things here! We just finished making great news (announcement will be later), and now we're going to go check out the city.

Ask for a autograph, he'll get a kick out of that

His Noodly Appendage! PZ knocked up Ms. PZ!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

OOOOO, what a great idea! Thanks! The odd thing about your idea is that I am quite the autograph-hound in real life, but I tend to ask scientists (at meetings) to autograph my copy of their book(s) that I have dragged along with me in my luggage (I only carry books in my luggage; clothes are jammed into a backpack).

In this case, I could scan PZ's autograph and put it on my blog! And then you all could turn eight shades of green and then swoon from envy. The mental image of this is simply too much for me to ignore. I gotta do it. I gotta. I hope PZ doesn't read this before I meet him, or the surprise will be spoilt.

Personally I'm guessing a sex change.

Maybe I'm projecting......

Me too! Although I did have one of his books, I asked Frank Drake to sign one of my copies of Ozma of Oz, which made him smile.

Ever since I missed the chance to thank Frank Zappa, I've been trying to get out to signing events to thank people who've made my world a better place than it would have been without them.

Thanks, PZ! Thanks Pharynguloids!

I thought I was the only one who did the autograph gig. Certainly, not many other scientists do that because I have been told so by the scientists whose books I've had autographed. In fact, when I asked one scientist-author to autograph his conservation book about parrots, he laughed loudly and said, "Not even my mother asked me to autograph that book!"

See, you got it all planned out! Too bad PZ didn't write any books.. *hint, hint* . You can get a good one like origin of species and have him sign it. Or a bible :D

.. or not. But still, I wish I was in the area.

PZ is in NY. He has exciting news. He doesn't have a deal to do a play on the strange life of William Dembski. But a book deal? Oh yeah.

I'm here at Vol De Nuit, sipping luscious De Koninck of Belgium, and PZ should be here shortly. If anyone catches this in NYC on their way out the door, we're meeting at 148 W. 4th St., Manhattan.
I'm teaching a course on Bioethics this semester, so I am hoping to get some opinions from brain of PZ on when does a group of cells (or group of circuits, as in robots), become a person with rights, priveldges, etc.

Cheers,
Chris

If you're still in NY on Sun check out the Ethical Culture Soc, it's a few blocks S of AMNH on the other side of the street.

It was a pleasure to work with you today, Dr. Myers.

PZ was "making great news"

Doctor pushing for first face transplant

Coincidence?

Coincidence?

I think not.

1. Face transplant? Brilliant! I've been quite satisfied with the lo-tech method of wearing a burlap bag over my head, though, and that's preferable to a lifetime on immunosuppressants.

2. GrrlScientist forgot to get my autograph! Oh, well.

3. No, Mrs PZ is not preggers.

4. I am working on a book deal, but that wasn't what this was about.

5. The announcement will be on Monday, I think, so relax. It's also not that earthshaking -- I just got to spend a day in august weblogging company, and there are a few things that will be released in the near future.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make anyone think the drama was quite so high.

Yes, Lord Sha-<shnuck>-hoosh. I have lulled the humans, so they will be unprepared when your cephalopod dragoons strike. Remember our deal—the North American landmass is to be mine.

Hey, is this thing still on?
