They aren't biologically practical, but they're cool to look at

It's another bizarre photoshop contest; this time the theme is chimeras. I'd like to see one of these in the chum bucket:

I'm pretty sure I ate one of these a couple years ago after six or eight helpings of sake. Not bad wih some wasabi and shoyu.

What a tremendous amount of talent! They did a better job creating a believable species than did Michael Jackson's surgeons.

I think that's a Star-Spawn of Cthulhu. Could also be a Servitor of the Outer Gods, but I don't see any pipes. (Maybe it plays the percussion section?)

You know, as somebody who does that now and then for fun, I have to say the use of low-quality jpeg is a stroke of genius. Not to get too technically geeky and all, but it gives it an amazing dash of verisimilitude.

Phyum Chthulhordia, isn't it? A rhinorbranch. We had one in the saltwater tank when I did Invert lab, along with the sandworms and the anenomes, but somehow it kept escaping and eating the sophomores....
