Turtling
Skatje, Mary, and I went for a drive down by the Pomme de Terre river yesterday evening, just before sunset. We’d heard that the turtles were breeding.
We drove down the gravel road, not quite sure what we were looking for, and then we saw this lovely lady. She didn’t move except to pull her head in a bit, but before we got there she had excavated a little hole in the side of the road. We didn’t see any eggs, but we also tried not to disturb her much.
