Two-fisted tales of Truth!

image

Tild has a larger, crisper version of this picture. I think I'm going to put a copy on my office door.

I wish I could get those for real - the whole stories inside and everything!

Say, that's not a bad idea...graphic novels detailing the lives of scientists, their methodologies, their theories, and the REAL controversies. A sort of sci-fi Harvey Pekar.

I wondered, when I saw yet another creationist comic book, whether maybe we should be making our own comic books. Truth, Justice, and The Scientific Method! Battling the forces of BS wherever they lie!

The fundies have shown time and time again that they can dish it out, but they sure as hell can't take it.

I am asking Tild to allow me to repost these images at my Yahoo group devoted to altered and detourned images.

I really, really want to help disseminate these, they're great!

"I wondered, when I saw yet another creationist comic book, whether maybe we should be making our own comic books."

I think it's an excellent idea. I'm no cartoonist, but I'm a writer, and I don't think anyone's done a graphic novel about Darwin's voyage on the Beagle and how it led to his conclusions, for example. I would be willing to work on this with someone who can draw.

BTW, all those "Dummies" books out there--"DOS for Dummies, Technical Writing for Dummies, Calculus for Dummies," etc., but no "Darwin for Dummies" or "Evolution for Dummies." Maybe this is also an option?

There is 'Darwin for Beginners' and 'Genetics for Beginners'. I have them both and they are well done.
