  1. Evolution vs. mythology is on the Diane Rehm show right now.

The representative of the Baptists is talking over Diane so much there's not a moment's breath for her to ask a question.

  2. I was disappointed by all the smoke confushion and that was kicked up between abiogenisis and evolution.

The creationist Richard Land kept offering his creation theory of the origin-of-life as an alternative to Darwinian origin-of-species. It was a head-spinning bait-and-switch.

  5. That was the most deeply disappointing DR show I've ever heard. When Land just kept running on and on, I started dreaming of Diane going O'Reilly on him... imagine that sweet, gentle lady finally having enough... "Shut up, you ignorant, lying bastard! Cut his mike before I beat the dogshit out of him."

  6. an enthusiastic endorsement of the more "aggressive" approach (of course, it's actually defensive - secularists are seldom on the offensive in these matters). certainly, if a "believer" respectfully disagrees with secularism, it's just good judgment and behavior to agree to disagree. but in response to fools peddling lies or even voicing insults like "you can't have values if you aren't a believer", as you suggest it's actually irresponsible not to mercilessly attack the ignorance, arrogance, insensitivity, hypocrisy, etc underlying such drivel.
