- Intelligent design "a sterile philosophy"
I like this because it appeals to the real spirit of scientific progress. If you want other people to believe your theory, then get to work! Test it against real evidence. Face the evidence, not your critics. This is the Internet Age, people, and making up stories about other peoples' work won't pass the Google test. The thread is picked up by Paul Z. Myers, writing in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune (I also link to his weblog version, since the Star-Tribune's articles are not…Tracked on: John Hawks Anthropology Weblog (128.104.219.204) at 2005 05 03 21:27:36 - ID just is not science
PZ Meyers writing in the excellent Pharyngula (and an op-ed in the Star Tribune), explains simply and clearly why ID isn’t science. Unfortunately the Tribune also has a piece by a cretinist (not a typo) in the interests of “balance”.Tracked on: Skeptico (66.151.149.25) at 2005 04 24 16:59:07 - PZ's Fame Goes Global
PZ Myers hits the big time with text Op-ed piece in the Star Tribune. DR Myers will now sit back and enjoy as the money, movie offers, and sports car rain down all around him. As the professor's fame and...Tracked on: Unscrewing The Inscrutable (66.197.215.85) at 2005 04 24 09:58:29 - Boo. Dave Eaton is in the Star Tribune today, too
The Star Tribune has a substantial series of articles on the opinion pages on Intelligent Design creationism. Unfortunately, they fall into the usual trap of feeling obligated to be "balanced", which in this case means balancing informed opinion with the gibberings of a creationist. I really don't understand why they do this; if they had an electrical engineer explaining how a television worked, would they also seek out a proponent of painterly-gnomism, the "theory" that……Tracked on: Pharyngula (146.57.32.68) at 2005 04 24 09:12:52 - Why intelligent design fails
A nice, brief explanation about why intelligent design is not science and why it shouldn't be taught as such can be found here. In about 5,000 characters, PZ succinctly sums up the shortcomings of intelligent design.Tracked on: Respectful Insolence (68.197.25.84) at 2005 04 24 08:34:06 - Pseudoscience would waste teaching time

PZ Myers of Pharyngula has an editorial in todays Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He explains why Intelligent Design Creationism is not science and should not be taught. Intelligent Design Creationism has produced no research in support of it; and in fact its proponents arent even doing research. What they are doing is lobbying to convince people that it belongs in public schools, while hiding the fact that there is no evidence in support of that theory. Pseudoscience? Definitely!Tracked on: Paige's Page (24.93.15.97) at 2005 04 24 08:23:35
